Snow on the way, numb foot, slow run
Well, I thought I'd get my run in tonight instead of waiting as snow, snow, and more snow is supposedly on the way!
I had the weirdest thing happen during the run tonight. My left foot got really warm all of a sudden, then started getting a little numb. First my big toe, then all my toes, then basically the whole foot went numb. I wonder if it was just from too much pouding, although, I've never had anyone tell me that, and never had this problem before (at least not this severe). Hmm, wondering if I should be concerned. I also have some of that nausea I had yesterday also, but not nearly as bad. I think that is mostly (or exclusively) from the weight-lifting. I'm guessing this nausea is from lack of proper hydration. Because it's winter, I hate drinking water and need to get my body rehydrated after a holiday break of cookies, cakes, coffee, etc. - everything but water!

I'd check your shoe laces. Was that shoe feeling tight? If your shoe was laced too tightly, you may have been pressing on a nerve on the top of your foot.
Just a thought. Be careful.
Hey Jon, thanks for that comment. I wondered that myself. My father-in-law showed me a new way to lace my shoes which may have made the shoe too tight. That makes sense from another aspect as well, where I felt a real tightness on the top of that ankle into the lower part of my chin. I just read in Runner's World also that this is pretty common and the solution is just to make sure your laces are tight enough so the shoe is snug, but not so tight it cuts of blood supply - seems simple - I'll let you know.
How you lace up your running shoes can make a huge difference, particularly if you have inserts or orthotics, or an injury. This website will give a couple of dozen (no kidding) different ways to tie up your dogs. http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm
Vince! Thanks for the web address man - I will definitely check that out. I ran last night with my laces not even really tied - just pulled them semi-tight tucked them inside laces on the top of the shoe and off I went. It felt much more comfortable that way. I'll be checking out that site though - didn't realize there were so many ways to tie a shoe. Thanks again.
